Staying South London
Staying South London was a project I created to shed light on the small business owners of Peckham and Camberwell. Living and being a student in this area, I spent a lot of time sitting in overpriced coffee shops, doing my weekly shop in the most mainstream (and closest) supermarkets available and constantly looking for the cheapest deals possible. Through this I got to know the characters that worked around me and grew close working relationships with many of them. From the local green grocers to my favourite restaurants to splash my loan these are my stars of the area.
Birds and Beasts
Birds and Beasts was a project I used to understand natural light and contrast. I was using this, like many other of my projects, to examine and capture the mundane and humorous aspects of life. Understanding movement and form for a well framed image to create a short story of my walk in a park.
Anti- Social Art
Focusing on the murals of West Belfast, this project; was something very important to me. I wanted to show as much from both political parties as I possibly could. Visually, the architecture behind the murals plays a huge part in this project as the hard brick outlines and rough texture of the walls paint a picture of the difficult and uncertain history the mural portrays.
